Big Data Architect (AdTech Focus) - Remote contract
This is a fully remote position, open to candidates in the US ONLY.
We're looking for a Big Data Architect to join our team at a leading US-based media provider. In this role, you will be a key player in designing, optimizing, and leading the data architecture across our dynamic media and advertising platforms. If you have deep expertise in big data environments and a passion for building high-performance, scalable data solutions, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
- Design and refine conceptual and logical data models for diverse media and advertising use cases, including impression tracking, audience segmentation, and campaign performance.
- Implement end-to-end data architecture strategies to ensure our systems are high-performance, scalable, and secure.
- Develop and maintain efficient, reliable data pipelines that power both real-time and batch analytics.
- Continuously improve system performance through rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and integrating new technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams to support dynamic reporting, ad personalization, and audience intelligence initiatives.
Who You Are
You have at least 10+ years of experience in data architecture and modeling, with a strong foundation in relational and distributed systems. Ideally, you have 3+ years of experience working in big data environments that manage 100TB+ of data, with a specific focus on the media, advertising, or marketing technology sectors.
You have hands-on expertise with the following:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): You have deep experience with BigQuery, GCS, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Composer.
- Data Transformation: You are highly proficient with DBT (Data Build Tool) for complex data transformation and modeling.
- Programming & Databases: You have advanced skills in SQL and Python, as well as a strong understanding of relational and distributed databases.
- Data Architecture: You have a solid grasp of data lake and data warehouse principles, with a focus on high-throughput, large-scale environments.
- AdTech-Specific Skills: You are an expert in data mining and segmentation techniques, particularly in programmatic advertising or cross-channel analytics.
- Tools: You are familiar with data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau and are able to build and maintain data pipelines for complex ad tech and media datasets.
