🚀We are looking for a skilled Senior Engineer specializing in Failure Analysis and Component Engineering to lead the qualification and validation of electronic components essential to cutting-edge energy technology products. This role focuses on ensuring component reliability for advanced residential and commercial applications, supporting the development of clean energy solutions.
As a vital member of the engineering team, you will conduct advanced failure analyses, manage validation processes, and collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot and optimize system performance. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability of high-volume energy products.
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed failure analyses (FA) using tools like X-rays, cross-sectioning, and microscopy.
- Develop FA methodologies and lead root cause analysis efforts.
- Collaborate with external FA labs to scope evaluations, interpret findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Qualify and validate electronic and electromechanical components to meet design specifications.
- Partner with suppliers and distributors to ensure performance standards and compliance.
- Create and execute qualification matrices, Design for Reliability (DFR), and evaluation protocols.
- Analyze post-test results to support design and manufacturing improvements.
- Troubleshoot system-level issues and support related testing procedures.
- Implement design changes to enhance manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Produce detailed FA reports and validation documentation.
- Present findings and actionable recommendations to internal teams.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic component validation and application.
- Expertise in physics-based failure mechanisms and advanced FA techniques.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably for residential or commercial products.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and component failure modes.
- Proficiency in the application of electronic and electromechanical components.
- Familiarity with PCB design and high-volume production practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Outstanding organizational and prioritization abilities
- Hands-on experience with power electronics and power converters.
- Background in solar, energy storage, or clean energy technologies.
- Proficiency in tools like Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience with advanced analytical tools such as microscopy, radiography, and bench testing.
- Proven track record of implementing corrective and preventive measures for quality enhancement.
